Welcome to the webpage of Team Lodge Losers. We completed the 2006 Plymouth-Banjul Challenge (www.plymouth-dakar.co.uk) in order to raise funds for 2 charities; the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Sunshine Orphanage in Luxor, Egypt. On arrival in the Gambia we donated our car to local charities and expect it to be auctioned off shortly.

Unofficially spoken of as 'The Ultimate Banger Challenge', the Plymouth-Banjul challenge involves a motley collection of cars costing less than £100 driving over 3,000 miles from the South coast of Great Britain to the West coast of Africa. Obstacles that we will encounter include the Sahara desert and a mine field in disputed territory between Mauritania and Western Sahara.

The Rules:-

  • Cars must cost less than £100.
  • Maximum preparation budget: £15
  • Any vehicles that finish are to be auctioned in aid of local Gambian Charities.
  • All vehicles must be LEFT-HAND DRIVE
  • Rules are made to be broken
